Happy Tuesday!
Today’s card features Simon Says Stamp’s Mod Stripes Stencil and Beautiful Flowers 2 Stamp Set! I am so in love with these stamp sets and have been using it a lot lately. It’s perfect for coloring on day 6 of the 30 day coloring challenge.
First, I started on my card panel by ink blending with the Mod Stripes Stencil with Squeezed Lemonade, Mustard Seed, Ripe Persimmon and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Inks onto a Bristol Smooth card-stock.
After the ink blending, I trimmed the card panel down to 4″ by 5.25″. Then, I used the Wonky Stitches Rectangle Stax from My Favorite Things to die cut the middle of the card panel. I cut another piece of black card stock from Recollection, just slightly bigger than the stitched rectangle panel so it can have the layering look in the middle.
I stamped the flower with a Copic friendly ink, Hero Arts’ Intense Black onto a Neenah White card stock and colored it with Copic Markers (R35, R39, R46 and YG17, YG20, YG21, YG61). I fussy cut out the flower and put it aside.
I thought the background was a little bit too bright so I cut a piece of Vellum and placed it on top of the stitched rectangle. Next, I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of black card stock with VersaMark Ink and heated-embossed it with Hero Arts’ White Detail Embossing Powder.
I adhered the card panel onto an A2 sized Recollection Black (100 lbs) Card Base. To finish the card, I glued the flower onto the card panel and popped up the sentiment with foam tape.
Thanks for visiting and see you next time! Have a good day everyone!
What a beautiful card Holly! Love all the design elements you’ve used, especially the stripes and colors. Thanks so much for sharing and for the inspiration!
