Happy Birthday

Good Morning and Happy Thursday everyone!

I can’t believe it’s already Day 29 of the 30 Day Coloring Challenge. There’s only one more day left for the challenge. A month just passed like that so fast! Today, I am sharing a birthday card I made using Simon Says Stamp’s Grid Background and Stained Glass Love Stamp Set and Dies Set.

I started working on my card panel by stamping the Grid Background Stamp onto a piece of water color paper with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed it with WOW! Embossing Powder’s Opaque Bright White (extra fine). I wet the card panel with water and then  sprinkled each corner with a different color of Nuvo’s Shimmer Powder from Tonic Studios. I used the colors Blue Blitz, Solar Flare, Atlantis Burst, and Catherine Wheel. I sprayed more water onto the shimmer powder and let the color spread on its own. I used a brush to move the color around so it would cover each section equally with its own color.

While I was waiting for my card panel to dry, I stamped the Happy sentiment onto a piece of Neenah White card stock (#110 lbs) with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and heat embossed it with WOW! Embossing Powder’s Clear. I colored with Copic Markers (RV55, G05, BG13, Y13 and R27), choosing the colors that matched the Nuvo’s Shimmer Powder on my card panel. I used the matching Dies Set to die-cut the Happy Sentiment out and die cut three more so I could stack them. I also stamped the BIRTHDAY sentiment onto a piece of Bazzill, Black card stock with VersaMark Ink and heat embossed it with WOW! Embossing Powder’s Opaque Bright White.

To finish the card, I trimmed down my card panel to 4″ by 5.25″ and adhered it onto my A2 Sized Bazzill, Black card base. I glued the Happy Die Cut onto my card and popped up the Birthday sentiment with foam tape and added a few clear sequins onto my card.
