Happy Friday!
Today is a very special day for me. I am super excited and honored to be a guest designer over at Simon Says Stamp Flickr Challenge Page. The theme for this week’s challenge is “Spring Has Sprung!”. Please come and play along with us for your chance to win one of the two $25 gift cards from Simon Says Stamp. It has been raining a lot lately in San Francisco and it’s so cold and windy. I can’t wait for spring to come! I have made few cards for this challenge which you can see them over at SSS Flickr Challenge Page. I will share one today and the other two soon.
This card features Simon Says Stamp’s Clustered Leaves Wafer Die and Stencil Butterflies. First, I positioned the butterflies stencil on a piece of 4.25″ by 5.5″ Bristol Smooth white card stock and I used the ink blending tool to blend Twisted Citron/Mermaid Lagoon, Squeezed Lemonade/Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry/Dried Marigold, Candied Apple and Wore Lipstick Distress Oxide Inks to make my card panel.
Next, I die cut the Clustered Leaves from the heavy weight 65# Vellum from a company called Stamp On It. Then, I colored the clustered leaves with Marvy 1122 Le Plume II light green marker. Marvy marker is water based, so it took a little longer to dry. While waiting for the leaves to dry, I stamped the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp’s Amazing Stamp Set with Versa Mark Ink and heat embossed it with Hero Arts’ White Detailed Embossing Powder onto a piece of #110 pounds Recollection’s Black Card Stock.
I applied the Tombow Mono Liquid Glue only to the stem of the leaves and adhered it onto my card panel and I placed something heavy on top of the card panel to hold down the leaves until it completely dried. To finish the card, I glued the card panel onto my A2 #110 pounds of Recollection White Card Base and I popped up the sentiment with foam tape to give it some dimension. This was my first time using the stencil butterflies and I love it. I hope you like the card as much as I do.
Thanks for visiting! Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!
