Hello friends!
It’s the last and fifth Tuesday in April today, that means it’s going to be a double challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches. I hope you can join us this week for the fun challenge.
I made this card by using My Favorite Things’ Yay for You Stamp Set. I started my card by making the background first. I ink blended Festive Berries, Candied Apple, Tumbled Glass and Dried Marigold Distress Oxide Inks onto my A2 Bristol Smooth white card base and set it aside for it to dry. I used the Spellbinder Oval Die to die cut the window frame from a piece of #110 pound Neenah White Card Stock and I trimmed it down to 3.75″ by 5.5″.
I placed the window frame onto the background and positioned the YAY sentiment in the middle, making sure it’s right in the center before I stamped it with Versa Fine Onyx Black Ink. I also stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment onto a strip of white Neenah card stock. Next, I stamped the balloons with a Copic friendly ink, Hero Arts’ Intense Black Ink onto a piece of white Neenah card stock and colored it with Copic Markers (B12 and R24). I fussy cut out the balloons. Cutting strings were a bit difficult. At this moment, I wish I had the matching dies to go with it.
To finish the card, I adhered the window frame onto my background card base and popped up the Happy Birthday sentiment and balloons with foam tape.
Here is the beautiful double sketches created by our host, Wei. I hope to see you at CC&S.
Thanks for visiting. I hope you like the card and see you next time!
Awesome take , Holly!
