You’re Strong

Hello all and Happy Friday!

“You’re Strong”, a card that I created for this week’s CAS Colours and Sketches, color challenge #294 and also for my entry for their DT call. This week’s color challenge is Blushing Bride, Soft Suede, and Berry Burst. Those are the perfect colors for October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

First, I started to mask off a square with masking tape onto a piece of Neenah Solar White Card stock (110 lbs). Next, I stamped the flower from Simon Says Stamp’s Beautiful Flowers 2 with VersaMark Ink onto the middle of the masked square and heat-embossed it with Hero Arts’ White Embossing Powder.  Then, I used the ink blending tools to blend the colors, Picked Raspberry, Spur Sugar and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Inks, onto the square. I wiped away the excess ink and the white embossing flower appeared bright white with the embossed resist technique. After I peeled off the masking tape, I used the coloring pencils to color the flower to darken it. Continue reading “You’re Strong”

Hello Friend

Hello friends and happy Thursday! One more day to go until the weekend is here. I can’t stop playing this Plank Background Stamp Set from Simon Says Stamp. I am so in love with it.

First, I stamped the Plank Background with VersaMark Ink onto a Bristol Smooth card stock panel and heat-embossed it with Ranger Ink’s Princess Gold embossing powder. I colored the background with Zig’s Clean Color Real Brush (Cobalt Blue, Yellow, Fresh Color and Light Green). I let it sit and air-dry for half an hour. After it completely dried, I trimmed down the background to 4.25″ by 5.5″. Continue reading “Hello Friend”

Hello Lovely

Hello lovelies!

I hope everyone had a great start of the week. I can’t believe it’s already October, this year goes by so fast! So over the weekend, I bought some Tonic Studios’ Nuvo Shimmer Powder. It was my first time playing with it and I am loving it!

First, I started wetting the water color cardstock with water. Then, I sprinkled Catherine Wheel and Solar Flare shimmer powder from Tonic Studios onto the wet cardstock to create my background. It’s so fun. All you need to do is spray some water onto the shimmer powder and it will spread out on its own. I repeated the process until the background was all covered. Continue reading “Hello Lovely”

YOU’RE A STAR!

Happy Monday! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. I finally got some time to craft over the weekend, and I made a card using Simon Says Stamp’s Under The Sea Animals and Pebbles Die. I had this stamp and die set for a long time and haven’t had the chance to use it. Here is the card I made with these cute under the sea animals.
