You’re Strong

Hello all and Happy Friday!

“You’re Strong”, a card that I created for this week’s CAS Colours and Sketches, color challenge #294 and also for my entry for their DT call. This week’s color challenge is Blushing Bride, Soft Suede, and Berry Burst. Those are the perfect colors for October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

First, I started to mask off a square with masking tape onto a piece of Neenah Solar White Card stock (110 lbs). Next, I stamped the flower from Simon Says Stamp’s Beautiful Flowers 2 with VersaMark Ink onto the middle of the masked square and heat-embossed it with Hero Arts’ White Embossing Powder.  Then, I used the ink blending tools to blend the colors, Picked Raspberry, Spur Sugar and Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Inks, onto the square. I wiped away the excess ink and the white embossing flower appeared bright white with the embossed resist technique. Hello friends and happy Thursday! One more day to go until the weekend is here. I can’t stop playing this Plank Background Stamp Set from Simon Says Stamp. I am so in love with it.

First, I stamped the Plank Background with VersaMark Ink onto a Bristol Smooth card stock panel and heat-embossed it with Ranger Ink’s Princess Gold embossing powder. I colored the background with Zig’s Clean Color Real Brush (Cobalt Blue, Yellow, Fresh Color and Light Green). I let it sit and air-dry for half an hour. After it completely dried, I trimmed down the background to 4.25″ by 5.5″. Continue reading “Hello Friend” →
